Jonathan Broxton closed it out for Columbus and right fielder J.D. Drew had 2
base hits and 2 RBI as the Columbus Crowd defeated the Dublin Pubcrawlers 12
to 6 at the ballpark.
Columbus took the lead for good in the top of the 5th inning when they tallied
4 runs on 3 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Chris Iannetta who
quieted the crowd when he launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand
Slam homerun. Columbus had 14 hits for the night.
Jorge De La Rosa(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings
and allowing 6 runs. De La Rosa was helped out by Broxton who recorded his
5th save. Carlos Zambrano(3-3) was charged with the loss. He was touched
for 9 hits and 8 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
